Green biomimetic synthesis of Ag–TiO2 nanocomposite using Origanum majorana leaf extract under sonication and their biological activities

Abstract Background Studies of plant extract-mediated synthesis nanoparticles is extensively explored and studied in recent time due to eco-friendly, cost-effectiveness minimal use toxic chemicals for synthesis. In this study, the Ag–TiO 2 nanocomposites (NCs) was carried out using Origanum majorana leaf extract under ultrasound irradiation. plays an important role as reducing capping agent (NCs). The antimicrobial activities synthesised NCs have been against Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria. addition this, antioxidant activity green also evaluated on basis free radical scavenging 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS), hydrogen peroxide radicals. Results Green-synthesised were successfully characterised UV–Vis spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), scanning electron microscopy energy-dispersive spectroscopy (SEM–EDS) transmission (TEM). results revealed spherical shape nanocomposite with average size 25–50 nm. showed significant Escherichia coli , Bacillus subtilis Aspergillus niger comparison TiO (NPs). evaluation biomimetic exhibited strong than NPs comparable standard. Conclusion Green-synthesized provide a promising approach that can satisfy requirement large-scale industrial production bearing advantage low cost, eco-friendly reproducible.
